Hivacy is a Windows application that detects motion behind you through your webcam and automatically hides your screen. Because Hivacy uses a camera, we want to be unusually specific about what happens to that data. This policy explains exactly what Hivacy does and does not do.

2. CAMERA DATA 

-Purpose: motion detection only, to trigger the screen-hiding action you  configured. 

- Processing location: entirely on your own device, in memory (RAM). 

- Retention: none. Frames exist only for the moment they are analyzed. 

- Recording: Hivacy has no recording, screenshot, or capture function. 

- Facial recognition: Hivacy does not perform face recognition, identification,  or any biometric processing. It detects that pixels changed, not who or what  changed them. 

- Third parties: no third-party SDK, analytics service, or advertising network  receives camera data. 

- Exclusion zones: the rectangle you draw is stored locally as coordinates only,  never as an image. 

- Camera access ends when you quit Hivacy. 

3. WHAT WE DO COLLECT 

To operate the paid version and support users, we process the following. This is the complete list.  

a) License and purchase data     

When you purchase a license, our payment processor collects your payment details and billing information. We never see or store your full card number. When you activate a license key, your key and a non-reversible  device identifier are sent to our licensing service to verify the activation and prevent unlimited reuse of a single key. 

Legal basis: performance of a contract.  

b) Website data

Our website collects standard server logs and basic visitor analytics (pages viewed, referring site, approximate region, browser type). 

This is used only to understand how people find Hivacy.  

c) Support correspondence     

If you email us, we keep that email and your address so we can reply.  

d) Application diagnostics     

Hivacy does not collect usage analytics or telemetry from the application itself.

We do not collect your name, your screen contents, your keystrokes, your  browsing history, or the contents of any application you use. 

4. THIRD PARTIES WE USE  

- Paddle— payment processing and invoicing  

- Keygen— license key validation  

- Render— hosting of the licensing service  

- Imweb— website hosting  

None of these parties receive camera data. 

5. WHAT HIVACY IS NOT 

Hivacy is a personal privacy tool. It protects the screen of the person using it. It is not monitoring, surveillance, parental-control, or employee-tracking software. It cannot be configured to observe another person, to report to anyone, or to run hidden from the person at the computer. It has no remote access, no reporting dashboard, and no way to retrieve anything from the device. 

6. DATA RETENTION  

- Camera data: not retained at all.  

- License and purchase records: retained for as long as your license is valid and thereafter as required for tax and accounting purposes. 

- Support emails: retained for [24 months].  

- Local settings (sensitivity, exclusion zones, chosen hide action): stored only on your own computer. Uninstalling Hivacy or deleting its configuration file removes them. 

7. CHILDREN 

Hivacy is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. 

8. YOUR RIGHTS 

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal data we hold about you, and you may object to or restrict its processing. Depending on where you live (for example the EEA, the UK, or California), you may have additional statutory rights, including the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. We do not sell personal information.

You can revoke Hivacy's camera access at any time in Windows Settings > Privacy & security > Camera. Hivacy will stop detecting motion, but will otherwise continue to run. 

9. SECURITY Data transmitted to our licensing service is encrypted in transit (TLS). Because no camera data is ever transmitted or stored, there is no image data that can be breached. 

10. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page and, for material changes, note the change in the application's release notes.
