Hivacy FAQ

1) Motion detection isn’t reliable.

• Increase sensitivity (how small a movement should be detected) in the app and test step-by-step.

• Stabilize lighting/background. Backlight, glare, or moving curtains cause false positives/negatives. Adjust the camera angle after fixing the lights.

2) Does Premium work offline?

• Yes. After activation, Premium runs fully offline thanks to local license storage.

• A network check may be needed only for the first activation/verification.

3) Is webcam usage safe? Is any video recorded or sent out?

• Yes, it’s safe. Hivacy uses on-device processing only—no video is uploaded or stored on servers.

4) My camera doesn’t work.

• Check if another app is using the camera (Zoom/Meet/OBS). Close it and retry.

• Re-grant permission:

  • Windows: Settings → Privacy & security → Camera → Allow Hivacy

5) Could this app get me hacked?

• No. Hivacy works locally and does not upload video or open remote access.

• If you see hacking symptoms, your PC is likely already compromised. Keep OS/security tools updated and run a full scan.

6) Commands don’t run after motion is detected.

• Ensure accessibility/input permission is granted (the OS may block simulated hotkeys).

• Check for hotkey conflicts with other macros/games/security tools using the same combo.

7) Why is Premium better?

• Fine-tuned sensitivity lets you detect more reliably across different distances/lighting (cafés, libraries, open offices).

• Virtual desktop tactics (Windows): Win+Ctrl+D creates a new desktop; Win+Ctrl+→/← switches instantly, helping hide prior activity. Combine with Alt+Tab (switch) / Alt+F4 (close) to look “busy elsewhere.”

8) Can I buy Hivacy Premium for someone else?

• Yes. Purchase and share the license key; they enter the key in the app to unlock Premium immediately.

• Each key is for one user; transfer/sharing after activation isn’t allowed learn more.
